Not the most eloquent piece of writing I've transcribed from paper,
however I offer this transcribed word for word from a flyer I was given:
PUBLIC HEARING ON
SENATE BILL 742
MONDAY MARCH 24 at 8 a.m.
at the Capitol Building in Salem.
Please be there to protect our rights
to freedom of speech and assembly!
ROOM HR 343 STATE CAPITOL
Senate Bill 742 would make it a _crime of terrorism_
to disrupt commerce or transportation (boycott, sit-in,
demonstration without a permit, or other acts of civil
disobedience) or to disrupt educational or legislative
processes (student strike or walkout, or demonstration in our
legislative sessions). This new crime of terrorism would be
punishable by _LIFE IN PRISON_.
SB 742 would also repeal our 181 laws, which are our
protections from police spying on our religious and political
groups, and our protections from local police acting as
Federal Immigration agents, intimidating non-citizens who
are not suspected of criminal activity.
Oregon is unique in the nation as a state sworn to protect its
residents from this kind of abuse. We must stand up for our
rights, or they will be taken from us! Please join us in a
massive display of
WE, THE PEOPLE DEFENDING OUR LIBERTIES
on Monday, March 24 at 8 a.m. at the State Capitol. Room
HR 343.

I'm feeling a WHOLE LOT LESS pacifist right about now.
