Perfect Dennis!
Compare our President to Goering. I should have expected as much. Well, I'm sorry folks, but I SUPPORT Bush. Now keep your liberal crap off themail group, and I'll keep my conservative crap off of it, too.

Nope, it's known as a general strike. The idea is to refuse to produce
and consume, instead spending your time causing mucho trouble,
preferrably by refusing to cooperate with all instruments of
"legitimate" authority and create your own instead. In 1919, folks in
Seattle actually did this (see: http://faculty.washington.edu/gregoryj/strike/)
and were doing pretty well until the bosses brought the troops in. You
can also check out what's been going on in Venezuala, and to some degree,
Argentina, recently. If you're real interested in this you can also
look at what happened in Paris in 1968.
The pacifist-types aren't very into this, because in its fullest form, it doesn't involve sitting around with a picket sign singing "We Shall Overcome; rather, it involves taking over institutions of authority, physically, and using force, if necessary.
Cheers, Dennis (guess who reads history for fun) ;) Voice or no voice the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country. --Hermann Goering
