No. I don't have data. I just know that for MWVLUG that I want
to be able to distribute out some of the tasks and share the
 project management between people.

% There are about 10,000 linux evangelism sites in the world already.

By taking specific local examples of success so that it is bound
 to the here and now.

% We've been very happy with our hosting at Willamette.NET, I think.

that does not tell you response time.
that does not tell you does not tell you webpage availablility
that does not tell you monitoring structure.

% Since we're beggars, not choosers, I don't think we can specify any
% particular SLA. (Of course, people who pay real money can't really
% guarantee uptime either; they just improve the odds.)

Having been on the FA Coop Board for 7 years, I learned the lesson that
it is never worthwhile to start with that premise.

First start with the premise of what you need. And then figure out
if you can afford to be beggars.

A DSL with a host is $50/month. Does a DSL connection meet your
 needed SLA?

What is the speed of page loading that you need? (less than 2 seconds)
What is the uptime you need ( more than 95% availablity)
That can be achieved on DSL + junko box.

So you want the willamette.net services to exceed this and
you want to be able to know that they exceed this.

% Larry, one more suggestion. Need a badge/link thanking W.NET
 % for sponsoring our server.

 Yes... Very important.
