FWIW, if you are building a new workstation look at the 'executive' series boards or 'extreme' series (975XBX is what I have). Many of the executive series have onboard graphics with an available 16x PCIe slot for a vide card.
The only somewhat current issue with the 965 family is the IDE chipset. You need to install with at least a 2.6.18 or 19 kernel if you are using an IDE optical drive. Still need to check that with a SATA optical. No idea why that was done but it is a 'feature' of the ICH8 chipset. The 975XBX uses the ICH7 so the IDE bus is still native. --- Bob Miller <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > (All this talk about white boxes and Dells has made me hungry > for > a new system!) > > > http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/wh/wh_available.htm > > Thanks... > > -- > Bob Miller K<bob> > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > _______________________________________________ > EUGLUG mailing list > [email protected] > http://www.euglug.org/mailman/listinfo/euglug > ____________________________________________________________________________________ Need Mail bonding?
