Hadn't thought of that either. If I don't still have it, I can download and burn another one. Comcast works great in my neighborhood. Are other USB devices working? [Looks]. It seems to be the only USB device in the house at the moment. A new motherboard is $100. (In my imagination, $100 is about ten > minutes' worth of a retired lawyer's disposable income. (-: ) In my dreams. :-) On the other hand, it's affordable. And actually I don't have to crunch numbers for the Pentagon's annual budget. So retreating to i586 is a realistic option.
