No such thing as a dumb question, as long as you learn from either the
question or the answer. Welcome back to Linux! Can you post a screenshot
of how the problem messages display? That might help to understand what is
going wrong. Right now the only thing I can think of is that your browser
might have a rendering problem, though why it would fail on those messages
specifically I don't know. I'm posting this response from within the gmail
web interface. Can you read it properly?
