Umm, that doesn't make any sense at all. You can't mean 50% of the vehicle weight behind the rear wheels of the towing vehicle because that would lift the front wheels off the ground (kinda hard to steer), and you can't mean 50% behind the rear wheels of the towed trailer/vehicle because that would pull UP on the tow hitch (a very bad thing). What exactly did you mean? I'm confused.
