Hi Victor, Shari and All,
When I need splines, couplers I go to a
"bearing" mechanical drive store and buy the splines,
male or female, already made for most sizes, then
machine, weld or other method to mate the other side.
Much cheaper than machining the spline.
I wish I knew that before the e-woody was
built. I put the motor on 12vdc and used a file to
take most of the spline off, then heat shrank a #50
chain sprocket to it. It worked well for me but yours
need a better fit/ balance to handle your rpm.
Though a Taper-lock bushings tightened on the top
of the spline may work without any machining at all.
Be sure to torque it down progressively to keep it
square.
These stores are usually under Bearings in the
yellow pages but handle chains, sprockets, belts,
gears, ect.
