No matter how hard you tighten, it may come loose over time. While you may get away fitting something smooth over splines, you do realize that splines designed to mesh with splines, not anything else. Machine splined-to-smooth "converter" as one piece (a flywheel can be directly bolted to) and be done with it. This is not the part where you cut the cost. Ask Mark Farver. Victor
