If you look at the posts, a lot of them are not on the
topics that you
have discussed. A lot of them pertain to range
considerations, new
battery technologies, and EV charger issues. If you
count the numbers
of posts, you will find that the majority of them deal
with EV technology
and implementation, especially of conversion vehicles.

Your post, disguised as a complaint, seems to refer
more to statistics,
which is also often discussed on this list. The post,
however, serves
as a reminder of how important it is to take flawed
statistics with a
grain of salt.

Obligatory EV content:

1. SUV's are often seen as the enemy of EV. This is
not completely true.
Although a lot of SUV drivers are antagonistic toward
EV's, and tend to
have little patience with the slow acceleration times
of many conversions,
not all of them are that way. The biggest source of
antagonism is that
the SUV legislative lobby seems to have many
components (principal components)
that are counter-aligned to EV's. It is the federal
government's sole
jurisdiction to legislate fuel economy standards which
is the principle that
is being used to attack the CARB mandate. And, recall
that the most recent
activity on CAFE has been with the so called "SUV
legislation." Who could
forget about the photos of lawmakers vigorously
defending the soccer moms.

2. Bush's environmental record, especially in Texas
where he has fought hard
against imposition of federal clean air standards, has
been in a direction
unfavorable to EV's. And, many simple financial
analyses suggest that
economic viability of EV's depends on federal subsidy.

Complain all you like about the supposed non-EV
content of this small
minority of posts, but realize that your position is
no more than an opinion,
and a somewhat poorly defensible one at that.
