Well this is a big fat lie! It may be anonymous but it is far from

Another point is that EV drivers usually have TWO cars.   So they are often
paying double registration fees (i.e. TAX)
I've actually got 4 cars and actually pay quadruple registration fees, but I
don't see the DMV rushing to rectify this particular
"unfairness" , but they want to make me feel like a criminal for driving my EV
for "free", while I pay about $180/year in registration
fees.   I'm calling B**sh*t.

My personal opinion is if someone wanted to make their own Methane, or Diesel,
or Gasoline or Woodgas and use it to drive without paying taxes,
LET THEM.  Do you REALLY think the average idiot is going to be smart enough
to do this on his own?    It actually encourages the country
as a whole to get inventors and Tinkerers out there and see what they can do.
The country benefits FAR more by encouraging this sort
of creativity than it does by being petty and trying to criminalize it.   We've
had electric cars for 100 years and all of the sudden
they think it's "criminal" behavior to drive on public roads?.   Why?  Because
their salaries and pensions are threatened by EV's.
god forbid they would make do with less as we glacially slowly move to EV's.
(and the roads are pretty much already built)

Instead we hear horror stories of "crumbling infrastructure", but it takes 8
road workers and 2 brain dead flaggers making $20-30/hour  to fix a pot hole.
(sometimes nearly $40/hour for the flagger)    And lest you think I'm joking
about the "flag rate" you can follow this link
http://www.wbur.org/2011/09/26/flaggers

And of course you can't just put 2 smart kids out there to lift a flag up and
let the cars go back and forth.  Apparently they need to attend
safety classes and obtain certifications and often need 1 or more years in
workplace safety environments for their new $70k "career" as certified
"flaggers"

You'd think they'd be able to put up a temporary traffic light, but I guess
that level of technology is hopelessly decades away.........
