Martin, I think they are communicating it very clearly on the CalBattery website: "CalBattery's current plans are to scale up the process equipment for commercial production and then to offer this GEN3 battery anode material in commercial production in the US by 2014."
So that is clear and logical if a process has just left the lab with good results for the first time that they now are planning for how to put the darn thing into production. Count on a year slip for unforeseen problems and if they can solve all issues, their batteries might be bought by 2015. That is only 2 years from now, to me a very exciting development from a company that has been in battery business (CALB that is) for some time. We will see. But you still can't *buy* any, can you? It's in the same heap as every 'concept car' that I come across. I'll get interested when I see a price with shipping costs. Sorry to be so negative. I looked through the archives and did not see any discussion on this company. According to the web site, the battery tested out at 525 whr/kg and would cost 70% less than comparable Lithium Ion Batteries. > > I know we have seen a lot of these types of companies and announcements come and go but having Argonne National Labs involved gives it some traction. > > Does anyone know any more than what's on the above site and in press releases? > -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
