I don't know anything about Calbattery, but Calib was established a couple years ago by CALB to sell their cells in the U.S. and has been the main place diyers have been purchasing CALB cells since then as they offered the lowest price. I purchased my SkyEnergy cells (now CALB SE series) in early 2009 before they changed their name to CALB. I think Calib is pretty much a one man operation by Keegan, so if they are in a JV with another company it must be CALB operating through their U.S. "organization" Calib. I think any U.S. company can license research done by the national labs, so I would guess that is what CALB (through Calib) and the other company have done. Don't know if it will generate a product, but if we look at history there is a much better chance that a Chinese company will develop a new battery product and offer it to diyers than that a U.S company will. Diyers wouldn't be using LiFePO4 if it weren't for them.
