This was on the main page of their web site:
"CalBattery is a joint venture between California-based CALiB Power and
Ionex Energy Storage Systems. The JV has developed an advanced anode
composite material developed at Argonne National Laboratory."
I found this article where it says Argonne developed the material:

So while you can rent space at Argonne, which I did not know, this
second article says Argonne did develop the material which I thought put
some legs to the PR.

I know we have seen a lot of these types of companies and announcements
come and go but having Argonne National Labs involved gives it some
traction.
