Yesterday afternoon, I was killing time preparing my spring garden while I had to wait for my 6A charger breath life back into the starter battery. Many cars today have lots of "stuff" that is on all the time. The 12v battery will go dead if the car sits for more than 1-4 weeks.
Seeing as how you live in sunny CA, why not get a small solar panel (about a foot square) to keep the 12v battery charged? This works for any car; ICE or EV.
