Is the EV version of the spark still produced by Daewoo, as the ICE version
is? I'm generally a bit suspicious of GM stuff, because of the EV1
debacle, however, I did recently rent a Chevy Sonic wagon, and was much
more impressed than I expected to be -- for a non-hybrid, it got quite good
gas mileage (around 35), and most importantly the build quality seemed to
be a lot better than GM stuff from the last 30 years that I've had
experience with. Hopefully the build quality of the spark will be good
too... then it's just a matter of whether we trust GM to not recall and
crush them all....

I do have a chevy truck (a two ton one, 18,000lbs GVRW), with the precursor
to the 409 in it -- the 348, from 1956. It's quite a good engine -- It
gets used a few days a year to haul firewood and brush.
