Yeah... here in CO, the freeway speed limit is 75 many places, and you can
still get run over going 75.  It really kills the mileage on my Prius to go
over 60 or so (as in, it gets under 50mpg -- it'll do 85, but mileage is
more like 42 at that speed).  Luckily, my EV will never see the freeway --
it's 30 miles to get to a freeway from my house, and it'll only have a
45ish mile range, so it'll stay closer to home, mostly on 35 and 45mph
roads.

We took the iMiev on the freeway when test driving it, and it actually did
75 fine -- I was surprised for a car designed for city driving.
