I have trouble with the "my pack is pampered and every other pack is junk"
mentality. How exactly do you "pamper" them? And how do you know your's
isn't the weak one? What about when your pack has 150,000 miles, 250,000
miles? Will swapping seem better then? That is only a few years away.
This allows them to maintenance your car as an increased service instead
of as a hassle.

With each pack coming from Tesla being tested as meeting factory spec, why
are you supposing they would be junk?

The reality is most folks are still going to charge at home. This just
opens up the possibility that a Tesla can cross the country as fast or
faster than a gas car (if both go the speed limit) since a Tesla will gain
2 min a fuel stop.

This not only makes electric cars equal, but superior in flexibility.
Charge at home, Charge at Tesla stations, or swap when time is of the
essence. 3 choices instead of 1 (gas stations).

I agree there could be pitfalls, but no different than on the production
line.
