Exactly my reasoning. I bought a Leaf a bit more than two years ago
with the intention of replacing the battery somewhere in the range of
5-10 years. At that time, I expected bigger, cheaper, and more
reliable batteries to be available. However, in less than two years
the car had lost about 30% of it's range and no longer met my needs.
Nissan claimed that the reduction of battery capacity was less than 15%.
Nissan's instrumentation is so crappy that I presume they are trying to
hide battery information.

I've replaced the Leaf with a Model S. I find the Tesla to be FAR
superior to the Leaf in almost all ways.

Incidentally, I attribute the Leaf's poor battery longevity to a poor
selection of battery chemistry (LiMn) rather than inherent poor high
temperature performance of lithium chemistries.
