Readers may be interested in my latest long distance (427 miles) EV trip in my
2011 Peugeot Ion (i-Miev) over 3 days - if not, please delete!
Data as follows - driving done mostly between 60-65 mph - weather on day 1 was
awful (wet) so restricted to 50mph or so.
Also, heater used on day one but not on days 2 or 3.
Mileage Acc = accumulative, 'Segs Rem' (= Segments Remaining) is from the Ion's
fuel gauge, Miles Range Remaining also from Ions display.
I generally got the %SOC from the ChaDeMo chargers but once from my OVMS app -
only thought of this late in the day.
All charging done on Nissan supplied ChaDeMo rapid chargers (those other than
prefixed 'Nissan' were Ecotricity ones at motorway service areas) except the
end of day charges which were done overnight on UK 13A sockets using the Ion's
j1772 port and the standard 240VAC charging lead (with brick) supplied with the
car.
End of Day 1 charge energy (15.3 kWh) derived from a plug-in Wh meter provided
by the owner of the socket - will take one with me in future.

Last 2 legs of Day 1 were very tedious driving - all very busy A roads (not
motorways) and back lanes hence the long travel time.
Average mph for:-
Day 1 - 23.2 !!
Day 2 - 33.5
Day 3 - 34.2
Hmmm... not for everyone this EV malarkey, methinks! But, hey! At least the
electricity is free! Sadly the coffee and associated fare was not (except at
Nissan, Poole - thanks Anne-Marie!).
Main aim of the trip was to assist a relative in purchasing an Ion like mine,
which he did, only one with 1500 miles less than mine and £1500 less!
Regards, Martin Winlow.
PS - If you get to the Nissan HQ's ChaDeMo out of hours and the charger appears
not to be working, just tap the screen and it'll wake up. MW
