If you can find it again that would be interesting, because publication before the Vectrix patent makes that patent void,
due to "prior art". One inventor at a non-profit where I used to volunteer, deliberately had his inventions for water-power ram pumps published in newspapers and website articles, so that someone else could not patent the same and start extortinng money from people using his inventions. Protection by publication. Patent law is an art... This was before the Vectrix patent. There was an EVDL member whose name I forget (member of the British Battery Vehicle society, had an electric Scirocco, it might have even been his website) who might be able to provide more details. That is how patents work, they can only protect things that were not yet published, the so-called prior art. Could be very handy for someone who wants to make a small business keeping existing Vectrixes running to have access to drawings and other design documentation. I also wonder about their patents. If no one buys the rights to them, and the assignee is a company that is dissolved, does that render them effectively invalid? They hold a patent on a twist-grip throttle that goes two ways. The normal way for go, the opposite way to control the level of regen braking. It's so intuitively obvious I thought of it myself, then found Cedric Lynch thought of it long before me (AND long before Vectrix!). Yet Vectrix got a patent and excluded everyone from doing the obvious. Can anyone configure an electric motorcycle throttle like that now?
