Hi Ben and All,

Since a de-ICE'd Mustang is fairly light a good combo is 2
longer 6.7'' motors ADC   L91 or D+D  ES-31 will give you everything you need
depending on the battery, controller you get. Remember this is what the
Killacycle uses too so as much power as you want.

These can be found in Sep-Ex versions that have regen and
controllers are reasonably priced D+D Motors.  Because 2 of them, controllers
they shed heat well for good highway driving. and could get home on one set
These also have better top end than series ones.  These wouldn't use a
transmission either, just the highest rear ratio available. New they are good
for 6500rpm easily, more if hot-rodded.

On batteries the Leaf pack you mention can be a double
90vdc/120amphrs or triple 60vdc at 180 amphrs too.  They are good for about 8c
so should be ok for you.

Otherwise you can go lead, either  6vdc golfcart 72vdc
or a big 12vdc AGM.

Then put the small gas motor of your choice and A/C
compressor to the motor shafts.  I put my K-91 Crown Palletjack 36vdc forklift
motors, $60 each used plus $10 front bearing install  or $60 end cap on 2 alum
angle rails spaced to the old motor, trans mounts was a simple strong mount for
them.

These are some of the lower cost but excellent
choices for a Mustang EV hybrid.

I think I had passed over that due to the voltage being over the 144 limit I
keep seeing for the AC-51 motors with Curtis controllers, and I think at the
time I passed over them I still hadn't warped my head 'round the math and
wasn't sure how to get to the current and power targets. Thanks for the
reminder; I'll put them back into the mix again.
