"If this is professionally installed."  This "if" is a big one in the US.
In the outer 'burbs where I live whole garages pop up like mushrooms. "Oh,
it is just a shed, its OK."

Small jobs like this get done without building permits and inspections.
The installer will get forgotten quickly, or the homeowner does it himself,
not knowing anything at all about ampacity of wires.  However, an OEM EV
owner is less cash strapped, and more likely to get a pro to do it.
