Ahh, self-justification by treating the extreme case - old, feeble people being run down by speeding reckless bicyclists - as the typical case. I disagree that only bicyclists should be responsible and considerate. I think pedestrians should be too, except of course for the those who are not capable, as the extreme case you mentioned.
