If only it were that simple. We have several club member who have tried just that and the problem is there is no infrastructure to install even a single L1 circuit without first drilling concrete and running conduit. Strata does not even want to consider that cost. If you can get over that hurdle when the 2nd or 3rd person wants to add a circuit they incur the same costs until eventually the electrician says the panel can’t take another load so now we are into the $100k to upgrade the transformer and panel.
The solution seems to be closer to some government regulations to make strata councils ‘consider’ the option, some incentives to sweeten the deal. Then champion getting an engineering report on what the current electrical infrastructure can actually support and using that as ammo when trying to move it forward in council. Newer chargers with load balancing and time of day control will allow for more cars per circuit and allow better sharing of resources.
