Mark, Did you read the blog-upon-blog of people who wanted to buy or lease an EV, went to their local dealer and had to suffer through half hour of the sales person trying to dissuade them from buying an EV and selling them an ICE and only if they were not swayed, then in the end, it might be possible to talk about that EV and oh we might have one on the lot but it is not charged, you cannot take a test drive, we do have this nice Hybrid car sitting ready for you - are you sure you don't want.... But humor us and call a handful of your local dealers and ask about buying or leasing one of their EVs and let us know how it goes...

Nissan sez it is 'Tesla-3 Stoked' ... I'd be interested in seeing the data you refer to that shows that most GM dealers try to avoid selling EVs. Also, I can see the logic behind your argument that the reasons include the amount if time to sell, and lower profit, but can't see how service revenue to dealership would impact a salesperson's efforts to sell an EV. - Mark From: tomw via EV <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [EVDL] EVLN: (Why?) Nissan sez it is 'Tesla-3 Stoked' ... Date: 4/12/16, 7:03 AM That's just more GM Marketing BS. The data from the last few years clearly shows that most of their dealers try to avoid selling EVs. I expect they always will for reasons stated over and over: more time consuming for sales people to sell, less profit per car, and no steady income from servicing. Servicing is very lucrative for dealers because they charge ridiculous prices for both parts and service. The manufacturers also make more per ICE car sold. All the motivation is to NOT sell EVs. Dealers are THE reason I will never buy a new EV, other than possibly a Tesla, and have never bought a new ICE. I'd rather just get another battery pack for my conversion when the present one starts dying. I've hardly had to do anything to it the last several years, just drive and charge mostly. -- View this message in context: http://electric-vehicle-discussion-list.413529.n4.nabble.com/Re-EVLN-Why -Nissan-sez-it-is-Tesla-3-Stoked-tp4681455p4681473.html Sent from the Electric Vehicle Discussion List mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE: http://www.evdl.org/help/index.html#usub http://lists.evdl.org/listinfo.cgi/ev-evdl.org Read EVAngel's EV News at http://evdl.org/evln/ Please discuss EV drag racing at NEDRA (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NEDRA) -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
