My observations using LinuxMint/Thunderbird/Firefox:
The nabble link worked. The electrek link on the nabble page worked and
did not seem to have the "cid=" cruft. The above electrek link failed.
Manually removing the tail end cruft allowed the link to work.
I don't know where your "cid=" is coming from but apparently not all see it.
