Bruce, do you realize how very trivial your EVangel-style is compared to
to the crisis that is overwhelming the world? It is a life or death
situation; show and tell of EVs is irrelevant at this moment.
I am reminded of those lines from Leonard Cohen's "Anthem":
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget the perfect offering
There is a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in
The Covid-19 virus is a terrible thing. But we cannot let it beat us
down. We have to find ways to fight it, survive it, and move ahead in
spite of it, as we did for many other terrible diseases.
Each of us should ask ourselves, "What can I do?" If you're a health
care worker, your options are clearer. The rest of us can simply hunker
down and *not* do X and Y and Z until it's over; but that amounts to
doing "nothing".
I for one am not going to sit home and do nothing. If I can't improve
one part of the future, I'll find ways to improve some other part of
life where I *can* have an impact! We'll get through this.
So, I see Bruce's comment not as saying he'll do nothing; but rather
that he'll keep doing what he *can* do, despite the epidemic.
Stay safe,
Lee Hart
