Willie's post points out he and I have days where using a
walk behind push mower can be too much.

Today, just walking around pushing a shopping cart as my
walker was a painful challenge, as my arthitic joint pain
was intense (even on a max dose of tylenol, and
supplemented with glucosamine). I pushed through the pain
while thinking, ?How a I going to regularly mow the lawn
of the sa home I want to buy if, just walking is torment?

I read Willie needs a more robust mower like his Kubota ice
riding mower, but with an electric drive. He wants less than
a commercial mower but an electric riding mower that will
do the job. What I found was home depot has a good selecton:

however they are going to be in the $1.5k to $3+k price range.

Riding Lawn Mower

Willie's nearest Hd store is in Kyle (just south of Austin),
but for him to see and sit in that model, the
1303 Rivery Blvd, Georgetown, TX 78628 | 512-868-3682
Georgetown #6538 Store has 2 IN STOCK.

I think my needs will much less than Willie's, as I'll only
have a smallish front, side, and backyard to keep from
growing into a tall TX grass prairie. Since there will be
days when walking (hobbling) behind a walking mower would
be painful, I was thinking more of a robot/robo e-mower

I could put the boundry wire out on the borders, and place
a charger in the corner. Then sit and watch it do its magic.
Since the homes I'm looking at are on the west side of I-10,
they likely won't have as good a soil as at Willie's farm.

Here are 2 videos on robo e-mowers:

(in German, use cc option to translate to English w/ sound
muted)

I like the mulching feature of the robo e-mowers as if I
end up with rock hard crusty alkaline san antonio calche
(kuh·lee·chee) soil, that has only had the grass removed,
never fed back into the soil, I can improve the soil, to
later kill off the water wasting grass, and plant TX
native ground covers (create a bee-lawn), like plant TX
clover, frogfruit, etc. Later still, I'll interplant with
some seasonal color with TX bluebells, poppies, etc.

That bee-lawn should only need mowing a couple of times a
year, to cut down the dead growth. I'm hoping the robo
e-mower should handle that (saving me from joint pain grief).
