Well, a person may not DRIVE more than 300,000 miles in 16 years, but the cycle life of that million mile battery is so long that you can use the battery for other purposes without wearing it out, which can earn you money, such as powering your house, or stabilizing the electric grid based on solar and wind. This would bring major benefits not just to the owner but to society as well.
