What I think more likely: they'll come up with obnoxious ways to "monetize" EVSEs. I'm thinking about the filling stations now putting video screens and loudspeakers on their fuel pumps, so you can't escape the ads while you fill the tank. If they were losing income from not showing the damn advertisements, maybe they'd do something about maintaining their charging points so that drivers in need of some joules could actually USE them.
