It's actually only good for perhaps 10 amps. This "charger" is really
just a transformer and rectifier in a box. The transformer has lots of
taps, and the switches select the taps so it works like a variac. Add a
voltmeter and ammeter, and you're done. No filtering, no current
limiting, no regulation.
So what you have is a big dumb charger; like a cheap 12v 10a battery
charger, but with switchable output voltage.
