Of course it will, if it's thick enough.

However, assuming you want nickle for it's corrosion resistance, you're better 
off using a nickle plated copper conductor.

Nickel has 4 times the resistance as copper for a given size (awg equivelent) 
so it needs to be about twice the diameter of copper for the same resistance.  
For the same current carrying properties a nickel conductor will cost you about 
8-10 times as much as copper.  Since copper aint cheap, that get's expensive 
really quick.
