However, assuming you want nickle for it's corrosion resistance, you're better off using a nickle plated copper conductor. Nickel has 4 times the resistance as copper for a given size (awg equivelent) so it needs to be about twice the diameter of copper for the same resistance. For the same current carrying properties a nickel conductor will cost you about 8-10 times as much as copper.
