I still don't get the fascination with self-driving cars. If I was going to cough up the asking price for the pinnacle of automotive technology, I'd ~want~ to drive it myself. Why let the car have all the fun???

Use of FSD is optional from minute to minute.

People get old. Driving becomes a chore. And more dangerous. And more stressful. I know people that have given up driving that could move themselves around with FSD. Those people would have lower risk of accident than you doing your own driving.
