That could work. Nissan has a 62 kWh battery. Two of those would be ample. Even to of the 40 kWh batteies might do. I presume I would need a custom battery box to reassemble the modules into something that fits under the odyssey.

So, I'll add the question: dims of leaf battery modules ?

And the prior questions:
- what are the dims of the tesla model 3 82kWh battery ?
- what is its cost, salvaged (but with near new capacity) ?
- what is the cost of other components I need to salvage - motor,
inverter, BMS, charger ... ?
- what computer support is needed for the motor, inverter, BMS, charger
?
- is anyone willing to do the work ? for what cost ?

Peri,
I had one, and I so wanted to convert it....
but I just could not get to it.

I actually had used it to tow my Camry for de-icing!

Ironically, a mechanic bought it from me....for the engine ;-)

Please keep us posted.

Another (edit: very) crude idea would be to put
a Nissan drive train in it - there was a video
of a Nissan experiencing out-of-body state
that would help.

You could have 2 Leaf batteries and a DPDT contactor
to switch when one is low...Isn't that what truckers used to do?

I need to take a serious look at converting my 2000 honda odyssey. Every year I throw a little more money into repairs hoping that a suitable EV
replacement will come on the market. So far, nothing that meets my
needs.

I think I am going to have to replace most of the exhaust system, which
could cost a couple $k. Honestly, that's still the cheapest path, but
something like that occurs every year. That plus miscellaneous other
maintenance expenses plus gas, I wonder if I come out ahead, over some
years, converting it. I hate throwing more money into something that
still uses gas.

Here are a few questions on my mind, and surely they will expose more :)

I suspect this car is old enough that its existing engine related
computers can be removed. There are some smarts in the window and
ventilation control, but they might operate without any central
computer.
