I keep thinking that for trucks and vans, it should be possible to have
a "range extender" pack that you simply load and plug in when you need
more range. They have the cargo space, and the load capacity.
Figuring out how to plug it in so the existing hybrid system will use it
might be tricky; but that "nut" has been cracked on a number of hybrids.
The more straightforward challenge is to come up with something like an
engine hoist or pallet jack to make it easy to load/unload it.
