Years ago the process for bringing in a "Gray Market" car was fairly simple, 
not so much today.

If the car is over 25 years old, you can still do it with just a big pile of 
paperwork.  If it's less than 25 years old, you'll need to have it modified by 
a federally certified conversion shop to meet current EPA and DOT 
specifications.
