Steve, I’m in NoVA too

We pay a $100 a year to register our EV, regardless of mileage. I forget the 
numbers, but you’d have to drive a substantial amount to equal the gas tax. We 
are being penalized, not incentivized. 

I think a gas tax would incentivize people. Make it higher and higher, and at 
some point when enough cars are electric, add a mileage based tax for all cars 
in addition to the ever increasing gas tax. But until then, the gas tax should 
cover the EVs as an incentive IMO.
