Liz, people with rich internal lives tend to come off as shy and awkward. In the end, maybe the manipulators deserve our pity more than anything else. I suspect that most of what they do is out of fear. They are stuck in an existence ruled by status anxiety. I don't envy that... Have a nice weekend!
