Yes, that seems reasonable. But it's mainly to do with relatively unusual situations, at least in our current society - cultural clashes and behavioural extremes. I'm not sure what the connection is with cultural determinism, which seems more to do with what is considered acceptable behaviour and suchlike - i.e. determining general day to day behaviour, rather than what happens in exceptional situations.
