Well, some people might say "just information processing", and that is
like using some god to *explain* everything, instead of trying to
formulate the problem.
This is doubly so in the use of the term information, which is a word
which almost automatically lmeads to a confusion between the first
person notion (like in: "I listen to the information on the radio and
was shocked") and the third person notion (like in Shannon theory, or
Quantum information theory, etc.
Personally, I assume "it is just information processing", but I don't
use this for an answer, only to formulate the problem.
Indeed, once we say that it is just Shannon or quantum like 3p
information processing, then we get the 1p FPI problem on the whole
arithmetic, and this even only to justify the "matter" part of the
mind/matter problem.
Luckily enough, we get a hint for the hard part of the mind or
consciousness problem, in the shape of truth about the machine M which
are obvious *from* the machine first person point of view, yet non
justifiable in any theory *about* that machine. This gives room for
consciousness and quale, and even god-like notions.
If it is all information processing, it is time to begin to think, I
would say.

information processing" theory needs to explain what is different
about my conscious information processing and the great majority of
my information processing which is subconscious. Is there
"awareness" associated with that subconscious information processing
that is just not *my* awareness?
