Yes Germany's hyperinflation in the early 1920s was bad, but the hyper *deflation* in the USA in the early 1930s was just as bad. During the Great Depression the prices of almost everything were much lower than they were a decade earlier, but the problem was people's income was even lower. Any economist can tell you that zero inflation is inherently unhealthy, and negative inflation can be deadly for an economy.
