Unless we can potentially contact other world lines, the case for MWI (tho I love it for that reason) is pedantic. Having said that, you guys are doing physics and the philosophy so why stop now? My only offer here is a downloaded scifi novel from physicist James Benford, where certain individuals have the ability to remember their past instances precisely and thus, alter the world lines that are instanted into, afresh. Some decide to 'change history,' with their future knowledge. It's physicist Benford's redaction of the quantum suicide experiment(s). https://www.amazon.com/Rewrite-Loops-Timescape-Gregory-Benford/dp/1481487698 Back to physics, thx.

Dittos!!! At least, mostly. What do you mean "we now know"? Any citations, pretty please? I gather that by "strict MWI" you mean without FAPP. I argue that since we regard QM-without-collapse as a workable theory, we have to introduce FAPP (more precisely, moral certainty regarding a given purpose) and consequently the Born Rule. In another thread I insist that we must swallow the pill of no-probability for single outcomes, and build a decision theory on that. (Yes, we can!) From QM we obtain only the Born Rule for large enough samples. George K. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Everything List" group.
