MailEnable was the worst POS that I have ever used. It worked or didn't work
for no reason.

Subject: relay won't smart host to new server

Ok, still having trouble with this new setup.....

Our relay "smart hosts" email for our domains to our existing exchange 5.5
server.

Now that I have set up this second exch 5.5 server, I have instructed my
relay to "smart host" mail to new server for one of our domains (as I'm
still testing)

The relay (Mail Enable) is still sending email for the chosen domain to the
original server (which then passes it on to new server).

My emails are going out from new server to the relay for outgoing mail.

I have done a test with telnet from relay server to new exch server and that
test was successful.

I have double checked my settings.

I have confirmed in the smtp logs that the relay knows to try and send to my
new exchange server first, yet each time it sends through the original
server.

After wasting a day on this, I have broken down emailed the list (I try to
save my posts for the big stuff, but I am completely out of ideas
here...)

Thanks in advance if you can help at all.

April (beginning to wonder if giving up programming for networking IS such a
good idea...)
