Yeah, MailEnable forum was the first place I tried. I've found a ton of unanswered threads on everything, and even posted one of my own lonely little threads...so I gave up and came to you guys....who never fail me!
Ahhh...if only ALL lists could be as cool as THIS list. Well I thought anyway it wouldn't hurt to check and see if you all knew something else that might be causing it. I did restart the SMTP service after making the change, but its not an smtp setting, it's a domain setting so I'm not sure what to restart there. I'm not sure it's an Exchange problem really? regards, Paul > -----Original Message----- > From: April Fleming [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Wednesday, July 07, 2004 8:49 PM > To: Exchange Discussions > Subject: relay won't smart host to new server > > > Ok, still having trouble with this new setup..... > > Our relay "smart hosts" email for our domains to our existing exchange > 5.5 server. > > Now that I have set up this second exch 5.5 server, I have > instructed my > relay to "smart host" mail to new server for one of our > domains (as I'm > still testing) > > The relay (Mail Enable) is still sending email for the chosen > domain to > the original server (which then passes it on to new server). > > My emails are going out from new server to the relay for > outgoing mail. > > I have done a test with telnet from relay server to new exch > server and > that test was successful. > > I have double checked my settings. > > I have confirmed in the smtp logs that the relay knows to try and send > to my new exchange server first, yet each time it sends through the > original server. > > After wasting a day on this, I have broken down emailed the > list (I try > to save my posts for the big stuff, but I am completely out of ideas > here...) > > Thanks in advance if you can help at all. > > April (beginning to wonder if giving up programming for networking IS > such a good idea...) > > > _________________________________________________________________ > List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm > Web Interface: > http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?enter=exchange&t ext_mode=&lang=english To unsubscribe send a blank email to %%email.unsub%% Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
