Well, you've actually done a good job of troubleshooting and of
describing the problem. Kudos to you. I was going to reply with a one
word answer of "DNS". Though your troubleshooting abilities seem to
indicate you'd be able to take this one word answer and run with it to
resolution, I'll risk being overly verbose by adding "suffix search
order" to my response. Wouldn't want anyone to think that good question
asking wasn't rewarded with mountains of additional information (4x as
verbose in this case).
