The registry hack shouldn't have an effect on the Outlook Desktop Alerts. They can however be controlled via Group Policy. Tim

We are running Outlook 2003 in cached mode and many, not all of our users complain that they have "lost connection to exchange server" and then quickly after that they have a message that says "your exchange connection has been restored". Our server isn't going up and down and doesn't appear to have any performance issues. I have personally never experienced this but have witnessed it on other client computers. Any ideas?
