For what it is worth, we will have 7000+ mailboxes, at the old co. we
used Netapps filers. New company (spinoff) and the mgmt. "dictated"
EMC SAN.
We're relying HEAVILY on EMC for the storage design with a good amount
of input from our old co. Exchange guys who really know their stuff.
The old company compared Netapps vs EMC before and decided to choose
Netapps, but the spinoff is 1/4 the size of the old co. and decided
upon EMC for Exchange and other online storage.

When you have utilized EMC SANs, did you design it or did EMC?

Some details:
7000 user mailboxes
500 shared mailboxes
0.7 IOPS per mailbox
2 Exchange 2003 production back end servers (evenly split mailboxes)
~300 GB databases currently – expected to grow to ~600GB with this environment

Thx in advance
