Hi Andrey

I had the same experience as you, my "original" white paper also said
remove all. I have no experience with POP3 in the hosting environment,
because we use Citix to deliver Outlook, so no POP3 is allowed ...:-)One
less worry!

Have you added any Distribution lists for each company? This now has
also changed from searching on the UPN to doing an LDAP search on a
description field in the Company wide GAL. This allows for users and
groups, while previously one could not easily include users and groups
in the same company GAL.

Plse post any resolutions you come across regarding hosting multiple
companies in an hosting/ASP environment.

Thanks

Sander

OK. Some progress if anyone is interested. I spent some time on the
phone
with MS PSS and it turns out that now, according to the RECENT hosting
whitepapers you are supposed to leave the Authenticated Users in the
Default GAL permissions and make sure to explicitly Deny List Contents
to
Authenticated users in the Default GAL permissions.

Of course, about a year ago when I was putting together the hosting
environment, the same whitepaper told me to remove authenticated users
from the Default GAL permissions.

Anyway, I put the Auth Users back and did the explicit Deny and voila -
Outlook 2000 is working for all the jsmith and jdoe users.

BUT... POP3 and IMAP are still having the problem.
