As I said, Microsoft BOUGHT the company that created what was to become MS
Mail. I don't know who the company was. The roots of Microsoft Mail
postoffice server, were wrapped around a client running against a shared
file directory mail repository.

Again, as I said, it didn't matter what the postoffice side of the service
sat on, just as long as the client could make a persistent connection to the
file structure. Up until 5 years ago, Lucent Technologies was running their
MS-Mail service on Unix servers with WfWg clients.

Whether it was originally designed for MAC's, trash-80's, or two monkeys
with a wax tablet I don't know, could care less. The box that contained MS
Mail Postoffice Server had three sets of disks for clients, DOS, Macintosh,
and Windows. It was 15 years ago. Who cares?

Defeat is a state of mind. No one is ever defeated until defeat has been
accepted as a reality. To me, defeat in anything is merely temporary, and
its punishment is but an urge for me to greater effort to achieve my goal.
Defeat simply tells me that something is wrong in my doing; it is a path
leading to success and truth. --Bruce Lee

Thanks again John, however MS Mail was first developed for the Mac in
1987.

Do you know where Network Courier fit into this equation? Did MS purchase
Network Courier and repackage it as MS Mail for the Mac, or was this done
somewhere later down the line.
